Through our clinics and consultation services, XTREMESIGHT promotes and advances performance vision to four distinct groups:
By offering visual performance-enhancing products and services for athletes at all levels of play, elite, competitive and participant.
By providing education and assistance in integrating the sub-discipline of sports vision into their professional practice.
By offering several services to encourage good visual health for our clients, such as visual nutritional information, specialized performance contact lenses, sports-tinted eye-ware and Concusion care related to vision.
By offering considered professional consultation to advance and grow products and services related to the improvement of visual and athletic performance.
Dr. Edmunds established and runs a sports vision-only practice, the XTREMESIGHT Performance Clinic, devoted to visual performance enhancement of athletes. In addition to his work with professional and collegiate teams, he provides custom programs for elite-level youth and high school athletes. He also offers sports vision practice management services to his fellow eye care professionals. Previously, he worked for Bausch & Lomb and was awarded ‘Sports Vision Optometrist of the Year” for his efforts to promote sports vision worldwide through the Olympic Vision Center. Additionally, he was involved in the development of a novel sports-tinted contact lens, NIKE MAXSIGHT, designed to enhance the visual performance of athletes. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, on the Board of Directors of the International Sports Vision Association and a member of the AOA Sports & Performance Vision Committee. He lectures internationally and has published numerous articles on sports vision and contact lenses. Dr. Edmunds is an extreme sports athlete, actively racing motocross and mountain bikes.
Dr. Fred has also lectured on sports vision around the world. Meeting with international mentors and associates, he has provided much insight into the field of Sports Vision.
Sports Vision Trainer
Cassy, one of Dr Fred’s standout clients, enjoyed a successful hockey career playing for Rochester Edge, where she was drafted by U Conn. After four years of collegiate D-1 play, she finished her career playing professional hockey for the Boston Blades. When she isn’t helping Dr Fred, Cassy works for XEROX as a design engineer.
Sports Vision Trainer
Remle, another of Dr. Fred’s stand-outs, played goalie for MCC’s nationally ranked Women’s lacrosse team, finishing runner-up to National champion position two years in a row (bummer). She currently manages a Planet Fitness franchise in Brighton.
Sports Vision Trainer
Christian, a multi-sport athlete, played HS hockey (goalie) and baseball for Section V powerhouse in Victor. He stays active playing club goalie as he completes his studies at SUNY Geneseo.
